HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

"HE ROSE TO THE OCCASION"

Of course I had to paint a rose..it's valentine's for gosh sakes.  This color just caught my eye.  It is one of my accent colors in my home (thanks to Jan).  It just pops with turquoise - my favorite color.  We painted these in my class on Tuesday but today I got the Red ones from my wonderful hubby of 34 great years.

Painting about it and more!

 LATE BLOOMER

This week has been quite exciting.  I painted four days in a row last week in spite of the many technical challenges I have had setting up my new mac server, starting my blog, Daily Paintworks site and learning to use a mac and windows 8.  I will post more paintings this week.  This is my test painting to see if I can do an auction.  This  Christmas cactus reminds me of my grandmother who always had one.  You really can't kill them.  Lucky for them they don't care if you forget to water them.  Mine never blooms at Christmas though.  Lucky me!  it gave me a great subject to paint.

Teaching my class tomorrow and have some exciting paintings in mind inspired from our first outing on our new (used) sailboat.  You will be seeing a lot about the "Peconic Tonic".
