Stepping Out

My new year's resolution is to "Just Paint About It"!  As I was searching for inspiration I found  DailyPaintworks   I have envied artist who paint daily.  I am always struggling to put my passion and painting first.  Working at home and being attention challenged has given me many excuses to put painting off.  There is ALWAYS something else I can find that needs to be done.  

The hardest thing about getting started is "getting started".  To end all this procrastination I have a goal of painting 5 new paintings a week.  It's a challenging start for me but I am excited about doing it.

My other goal is to improve my marketing of my work.  I have joined Dailypaintworks.com and will start incorporating the social network audience that I have neglected to join because "I don't have enough time!"  

I'm not much of a writer but I have been painting for over 40 years and I have art to share.  This blog will hopefully keep me honest and document my growth as an artist.  I always felt the blogs were sort of egotistical but what I hope to get out of my blog is to communicate with other artists and to inspire me to live up to my goals since I have divulged my weaknesses to the world.

I have actually painted 4 paintings this week and will post them as soon as I get my new mac computer up and running.  I am in a huge learning curve with the new mac operating system but it is so exciting.  I will continue to build my blog and new dailypaintworks site - that is when i am not at the easel!!!
